How we research and publish.
Work Gear Scout publishes research-based workspace guidance with clear limits, visible sources, and no invented testing or rankings. Last reviewed September 27, 2026.
Research scope
Each guide begins with a reader decision: what must fit, connect, adjust, or remain serviceable in a real workspace. We use current manufacturer documentation for product-specific claims and authoritative standards or public guidance when a topic involves compatibility, ergonomics, electrical safety, or disclosure practice.
Owner reports may reveal recurring issues worth checking, but they are treated as context rather than proof. A repeated anecdote is not converted into a measured failure rate.
How evidence is labeled
- Published-spec example means the description is based on documentation available from the manufacturer or standards body.
- Hands-on tested will appear only when the website has directly evaluated the named product and can explain the method. Current guides do not claim hands-on testing.
- Editorial image means the image illustrates a workspace concept; it is not a photograph of a test and is not evidence for a product claim.
Selection and rankings
We do not assign universal scores from feature counts, sell ranking positions, or call a product “best” without a documented comparison basis. Current buying guides are decision frameworks: they narrow choices by fit, compatibility, use case, maintenance, and material trade-offs.
Sources and freshness
Commercial and technical guides identify references near the end of the article, while product examples link to the relevant manufacturer documentation. Article dates are published only after a page enters an ongoing revision history with independently recorded updates; the site does not invent or stagger historical dates to simulate longevity.
Specifications, prices, availability, software support, and warranties can change. Readers should verify purchase-critical details on the current manufacturer or approved seller page.
Corrections
Substantive factual corrections are made when supported by a current primary source. To report an issue, email [email protected] with the page URL, disputed statement, and supporting source. Materially revised pages receive a new review date.
Commercial independence
Affiliate eligibility, commission rate, free products, or sponsorship does not purchase a favorable conclusion or guaranteed placement. Any future material relationship will be disclosed clearly and close to the relevant link or endorsement. See the Affiliate Disclosure.
Authorship and operation
Content is published by the Work Gear Scout Editorial Team, which describes the website's editorial function. Work Gear Scout is an independently operated website and does not present itself as a laboratory, certification body, or incorporated media company.
